Superintendent

 
  • We are currently seeking a qualified individual to join our team as a Superintendent. As a self-performing general contractor, the Superintendent is a key position at Charles C. Brandt Construction Company (CCB). CCB is a leading provider of general contracting and construction management services for office, industrial, educational, restaurant/retail, institutional, and faith-based clients in central Indiana.     • Provide strong leadership to fellow carpenters, foreman, laborers and field trades employees

    • Overseeing projects from cradle to grave

    • Assist with project planning, coordination, scheduling, execution of work on time and within budget while maintaining a safe work environment

    • Review, modify and discuss look-ahead schedules and productivity with Project Manager or Project Engineers on a consistent basis

    • Ability to fully understand estimate and budgets to stay on track

    • Maintain rolling 3 week look ahead using Excel

    • Ability to use View Point Teams for daily reporting, RFI’s, Submittals and project pictures

    • Ability to read, modify and email electronic prints through View Point Teams

    • Conduct daily meetings with trade partners to ensure expectations are met and on track

    • Work hand in hand with the Director of Field Operations to ensure manpower needs are met to keep the project on track.

    • Maintain good working relationship with trade partners and project management

    • Follow all safety protocols

    • Willingness to work as a self-performing superintendent when needed

    • Reports directly to the Director of Field Operations

    • Manage all trade partners on site in addition to any carpenters, foreman and laborers

    • Works closely with:

      • Project Management team

      • Subcontractors & Vendors

      • Owners/Clients

    • Experience in construction supervision ranging from ground up buildings, tenant improvement, full renovation, occupied space renovation

    • Knowledge of construction, means and methods, scheduling, job-cost monitoring/labor reports and safety

    • Possess time management and multi-tasking skills

    • Effective oral and written communication skills

    • Effective problem-solving; solutions-oriented skills

    • Skills and competency to oversee and lead an entire project

    • Minimum OSHA 30-hour certification

    • Strong technical background including experience with Office 365

    • Experience with Procore & Viewpoint not required but strongly desired

    • 3-5 Years of Commercial Superintendent experience


Project Engineer

 
  • Project Engineer is a member of the Project Management Team and a critical position at Charles C. Brandt Construction Company (CCB). We are currently seeking qualified and motivated individuals to join our team. CCB is a leading provider of general contracting and construction management services for office, industrial, educational, restaurant/retail, institutional, and faith-based clients in central Indiana.     • Work closely with the Project Manager and assist in coordination of all aspects of an opportunity from lead to project

    • Estimating and take-offs, including conceptual budgets and self-performed work

    • Creating and/or managing project documentation such as Submittals, RFIs, etc

    • Creating the master project schedule with input from trade partners and field staff as necessary

    • Direct liaison between clients, architects, engineers, management, support staff, field crews/activities and trade partners

    • Review and discuss look-ahead schedules and productivity with Superintendents at least weekly as requested by the Project Manager

    • Work closely with Superintendents to anticipate, then proactively identify and solve jobsite problems to enhance a safe work environment, minimize risk, and increase profitability

    • Assist Superintendents to ensure all projects close out in an efficient and timely manner

    • Timely response to all forms of communication

    • Reports directly to Director of Construction or the President

    • Works closely with:

      • Other Project Managers & Project Engineers

      • Project Assistants

      • Superintendents and field staff

      • Warehouse staff

      • Trade Partners & other Project Stakeholders

    • Basic knowledge of construction

    • Possess time management and multi-tasking skills

    • Effective oral and written communication skills

    • Effective problem-solving; solutions-oriented skills

    • Skills and competency to “lead from the front” and elevate your teammates

    • Interest in learning and expanding relevant knowledge and being open to new ideas

    • Strong technical background including experience with Microsoft Office Suite
